What Makes Us Different.
Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian school that provides a nurturing and a safe place to grow and learn, for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 10th grade.
Mission
The mission of Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy is to educate students to effectively serve their communities for Christ.
History
Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy was established in 1969 under the name Greater Philadelphia Junior Academy, as a regional school to provide Christ-centered education for the children of Greater Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist churches. Prior to 1969, Hatboro Church School served the youth in the area.
The campus has ten classrooms. In addition, the Academy has a gymnasium, classroom libraries, an interactive playground system, and large paved play area. The school is situated on approximately twenty acres of beautiful nature-preserved-type land. Several are meadows, a small meandering stream, and wooded areas are the setting for our school.
Philosophy
Our philosophy is that all children can achieve excellence. We believe that God has uniquely gifted each person and that we, as a school community, are responsible to develop those gifts to their full potential. We strive to help children discover God’s purpose for their lives and to follow Christ’s example of loving service.
Our program seeks to educate the whole child -mind, body, and spirit. Learning at HVCA is supported by rigorous academic standards. Our curriculum is infused with project-based learning activities that facilitate mastery of
core subjects, as well as, significant life skills. Additionally, in our content-rich learning environment, children are engaged in the arts, physical education, and extra-curricular activities. Most importantly, we encourage students and all members of HVCA community to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to discover the joy of service for the benefit of others.
